From 19 March 2022 At the National Stadium in Warsaw, there was a point where PESEL numbers were issued to Ukrainian citizens. The point ended today after eighty third the days of operation.
After 9 June this year refugees from Ukraine will be able to get the PESEL number by going to the Delegations of the Office of Administration and Civil Affairs located in the Warsaw Districts.
Ukrainian citizens can benefit fully from the assistance offered by the Polish government or local government after receiving the PESEL number. Neighbors from across the eastern border will also gain the right to legal work and free education through the number. The PESEL number is necessary to handle such formalities as establishing a bank account or applying for family benefits from ZUS.
For some time, the PESEL numbering point at the National Stadium was less popular.
