If the project presented in August this year becomes a reality, then the National Tax Administration will start filling out annual PIT statements for taxpayers.

Postulates in the form of a transfer to PIT officials for a long time. It is possible that next year the plan will become a reality. The Ministry of Finance informs that in this respect the National Tax Administration will carry out the task ‘for the taxpayer’ without having to make any application, i.e. the taxpayer will not have to ask the office, everything will be ‘automatic’.

According to the Ministry of Finance, ‘the possibility of annual settlement of income tax on individuals will apply to taxable persons accounting for:

  • individually,
  • together with the spouse,
  • as foreseen for single-parents.’

At the same time, it was stated that the annual PIT statement prepared by the National Tax Administration could be verified and possibly modified. If the taxpayer does not take any action within the prescribed time limit, this will be treated as acceptance of a statement made by the taxer.

However, taxpayers have been given the opportunity to give up their new opportunities completely and to complete the PIT testimony on their own (without assistance or interference from the office).

The Ministry of Finance also informs that:

„In case of settlements for 2018 the testimony will be available to taxpayers – natural persons who do not engage in economic activities, who provide tax return on the form PIT-37 and taxpayers obtaining income from cash capital (e.g. proceeds from the sale of shares) providing a tax return on the form PIT-38. From settlements 2019 tax returns will also be available to taxpayers – natural persons conducting non-agricultural economic activities who submit tax returns on the form PIT-36, PIT-36L or PIT-28.”
