The official topic of the NATO-Russia Wednesday Council is to be Ukraine and the situation in Afghanistan, unofficial – the findings of the Warsaw NATO Summit. About NATO's relations with Russia he spoke on Polish Radio 24 Witold Juras from the Centre for Strategic Analysis and Dr Andrzej Dmowski, expert on geopolitics.

A few days after the Warsaw summit, the NATO-Russia Council is held in Brussels. After the meeting of the States of the Alliance in Warsaw, the Russians announced that they would expect "a detailed explanation of the Natov reinforcements on all azimuts".

According to Witold Juras, the Russian side is aware that the NATO-Russia Council is a “democratic theatre”. “The Russians understand that it is theatre,” he stressed.

The guest also referred to the harsh rhetoric of Russian media after the NATO summit. "State media journalist in Russia is an official of the propaganda front," he noted. - He goes shopping privately in Berlin or Paris, and he'd like to send his kids to Western colleges. Everyone really knows that it is a “pic for water” – Juras explained.

The guest added that NATO "should respond to Russian actions rather than Russian statements". "It is a mistake on our part to pay too much attention to Russian rhetoric," he concluded. Dr Andrzej Dmowski stressed in turn that it is no coincidence that the NATO-Russia Council takes place after the Warsaw Summit. "Most likely this is due to the fact that the Russian side wanted to respond to formal decisions at the NATO summit, primarily strengthening the so-called eastern flank," he stressed.

He added that the decisions taken today under the pact on cooperation with the Russian Federation "are more likely to have one direction’. "It is impossible to miss the Russian side's involvement in Donbasa and in eastern Ukraine today," explained Dmowski.
