According to Eurostat, the expected duration of employment activity in Poland is 32.2 years. That means we're working less on the law three years than our European Union colleagues. To determine the length of work throughout life, the so-called expected length of work is used. This indicator represents the average expected number of years of working life for those aged 15 years. This is therefore an indicator of the expected rather than the actual length of professional activity.

It turns out that Poles, compared to the people of the European Union, work relatively briefly during their lives. According to data from 2013 was average 32.2 years. By comparison, the average for the European Union was 35.1 years. The expected duration of professional activity is by far the highest for Icelanders and Swiss, i.e. for residents of countries which are not members of the Union. In these countries, the rate was 2013 to 45.6 and 41.9 years.

We see on the graph that comparing Poles to residents of the European Union, we will get a result of 3 shorter years. According to this data, in the year 2013 was average 32.2 years, the mentioned European Union citizen works 35.1 years. Icelanders and Swiss, i.e.

residents of countries that are not members of the European Union, work by far the most in Europe 45.6 years and 41.9 years. On the other hand, the average work is carried out in Italy and Hungary. In these countries, the rate was 2013 by 45.6 and 41.9 years.
