Eurostat, the EU statistical office, reported that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in November 2014 in Poland 8.2% to 8.3% last month, for comparison in November 2013 was 10%.
Across the EU, the unemployment rate was in November 10%. The number of unemployed in Poland was 1,426,000 in November to 1,450,000 last month.
Eurostat measures the harmonised unemployment rate as a percentage of people aged 15-74 years unemployed, able to take up employment in the coming years two weeks that have been actively seeking work in the past weeks for all those active in the country.
According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS), the unemployment rate measured as the percentage of unemployed persons registered in employment offices vis-à-vis the entire active population was at the end of November 11.4%.
The highest unemployment continued in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and the lowest in Wielkopolska.
