19 October 2023 the provisions of the Act of 7 July 2023 About Central Pension Information. The solution is intended to provide stakeholders with information on the state of retirement savings and future benefits.
An important solution will be an electronic service providing access to pension information, including information on pension products held, the current state of the pension funds collected and their estimated impact on future pension benefits. The portal will be run by PFR Portal, which is the company in question under Article 77(2) Act dated 4 October 2018 on employee capital plans (Article 2(6) Act on 7 July 2023 About Central Pension Information).
PFR Portal[1], in order to verify the conformity of the data of pension product holders and the provision of electronic services through the CIE system, process in the CIE system the following data concerning the persons concerned:
- 1) name and surname;
- 2) PESEL number;
- 3) the series, number and date of validity of the last issued identity card of the Polish national;
- 4) the series, number and date of validity of the last passport issued to the Polish national;
- 5) the series, number and date of validity of the valid document confirming the identity and nationality of the foreigner;
- 6) series, number and date of validity of the Polish national's identity card, other than specified Under point 3;
- 7) series, number and date of validity of the passport of a Polish national, other than specified Under point 4;
- 8) series, number and date of validity of the document confirming the identity and nationality of the foreigner, other than specified Under point 5.
However, it should be borne in mind that in order to benefit from the above data we will need to establish a CIE profile i.e. a separate part of the CIE system containing the data set identifying the person concerned and pension information, together with the resources allocated to the CIE system (Article 2(12) Act on 7 July 2023 About Central Pension Information). Use of the portal will be voluntary and free of charge.
It will be possible to assess the functionality of the system over the next few months, but the regulation should already be assessed positively, as it will ensure that stakeholders have access to up-to-date information on pension resources collected and information on pension products they have.
