In May one from the most important topics, which will stay with us longer, were changes in taxes and law, announced by the Polish Deal. Details of the programme presented so far are to be presented in early July. At this point, we know that the package is about to introduce some significant tax changes.

Under the Polish Deal, projects that are already being implemented, such as the withholding tax reform, are likely to be finalised to establish a WHT refund procedure. The goal of bringing Poles on emigration to the country is also a relief for them – they will be able by two years indicate in tax returns the amount to be taxed lower by 50,000 PLN, if the duration of the relief is active. This is not a new idea either, but rather a continuation of the already announced solutions.

In this issue we describe the basic assumptions of the government project. We are also stopping with the amendment of the Social Assistance Act, which brings positive information, including on the increase in the salary allowance of a full-time social worker in local social assistance organisational units with 250 PLN to 400 PLN.

In May, it was also important to continue the implementation of the Central Register of Real Beneficiaries, which under the amendment of the Anti-Money Laundering Act and the Financing of Terrorism of 30 March 2021, has been extended to include new mandatory entities, namely cooperatives, associations, foundations, partnerships, European economic interests groupings, European companies, European cooperatives and trusts. We also write about other changes concerning CRBR in the May issue of RB Magazine
