In Anglo-Saxon countries, the suspension of employment exists in the legal order and sometimes draws companies out of trouble. Introduction to the Polish labour market is being considered by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy.
The concept known in common law as furlough would enter Poland as a form of support for companies and be secured by long-term unemployment.
As Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Marlena Maląg said in the Signals of Polish Radio Day, an employer could suspend an employee on three months, and at that time he would be able to benefit from, for example, the solidarity allowance announced by the President in a programme agreement signed with NSZZ ‘Solidarity’ 5 May.b.r.
After the suspension period, the employee would return to his post.
At this point, the idea of the ministry is not specific and seems to be mainly pre-election advertising of government activities, which does not change the fact that suspension of employment relations can be a useful tool. During the global recession In 2009 companies such as Intel, Toyota and Gannett have implemented temporary exemptions, using them as an alternative to dismissals.
