On Sunday 11 November We'll celebrate the centenary of Poland's independence. Thanks to the idea of the PiS Members, we are also to celebrate this anniversary on Monday. This idea has sparked many discussions and controversy.
As we read in the justification for the bill, Members argued that Independence Day is one with the most important public holiday for Poles – “After 123 years of partitions – captivity marked by the fight, suffering and effort of many generations of Poles and Poles – our country regained sovereignty".
Is this a reason for adopting in haste, several days before the holiday, an extra day off from work? It may be the "election sausage" before the second round of local elections. Critical voices can be heard from many sides.
PiS MPs indicate that Poland regained sovereignty with the effort and suffering of many generations. Today, however, many professional groups lose the right to celebrate. This is, of course, about trade workers who have been excluded from the list of people who can celebrate independence.
The idea was to shut down hospitals and pharmacies on that day. Those who are waiting long months for a doctor’s visit, who have been anxious to follow media reports about a new day off from work, can be relieved. What about other industries? Members have apparently forgotten that the deadline is long waiting in courts.
According to the analysis, the reforms of the judiciary introduced by the government have increased the time needed to finalise the case. Those who had bad luck and their case had a deadline for 12 November, They'll wait another week, unfortunately.
Perhaps the Members of the Law and Justices think that only the “customers” of the courts are the advertisers, and there is nothing to be expected of them?
It is not necessary to look far to identify other "victims" of the PiS Members' ideas. Monday 12 November Civil State Offices are also to be closed. Monday is not a typical marriage day, but it cannot be ruled out that someone planned a wedding for that day. The bad guys will have to postpone this important moment for another time. Precautionary brides should avoid dates before or after important anniversarys in the history of Poland – just in case.
According to economists, one A day off is a loss for the economy of several one billion Gold. Our economy will carry it, but the problem lies elsewhere. Such a trivial matter, which could have been concluded peacefully a few months ago, shows how bad the process of creating law in Poland during the "good change" rule is. This is another example of the fact that laws are created on the knee, without analysis and agreement, as a response to current political demand. It doesn't seem that way.
