The Ministry of Finance wants to reward entrepreneurs for participating in the split payment system. This system, designed to be a barrier to VAT fraud, is intended to be voluntary in principle. The Ministry of Finance wants to encourage participation in this programme through specific awards on the financial charator. The value of these awards, to put it mildly, does not knock you on your knees.
This is about amounts of several PLN in case someone pays several one thousand PLN in the split payment system. Such awards may not compensate for potential obstacles to daily business activities which may cause a new system.
Split payment means ‘freezing’ on a separate account of the part of the receivable received by the seller of the goods or services. The term ‘freezing’ is justified because the amount received as VAT can be used to a very limited extent. The amount from the VAT account may be transferred to the account of the tax authority for payment of the VAT due. second the option is to pay to a customer who is a VAT payer, but only to cover the part of the VAT liability.
The negative effect is that the possibility of own resources is limited. In the absence of a split payment system, VAT may be available for about a few weeks, i.e. before the deadline for payment to the tax office expires. This may in turn be relevant to the financial liquidity of the company.
