The number of foreigners legally employed in Poland and subject to social insurance has already exceeded one million. The largest group are Ukrainian citizens. At the end of July, pension insurance was almost declared 1,025,000 foreigners.
- The number of foreigners with pension insurance as early as June of that year exceeded the historic barrier one million people. We have been looking at this data in detail for several years. Recently, the Polish labour market has become very attractive for citizens of other countries, especially for Ukrainians," stressed Prof. Gertruda Uścińska, President of the Social Security Office.
At the end of June 2022 the number of foreigners declared for pension insurance exceeded 1,011,000 people. Compared to the data from the end of March this year, it is an increase by close 80,000 Ukraine's citizens have been the largest group for years. In the second quarter of this year in ZUS statistics was recorded 729,000 Ukrainians who took legal work in Poland and paid contributions to the Social Insurance Fund. Within these three months the number of legally working Ukrainians increased by 62,000
- With the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, we did not notice that citizens of this country were being mass-registered. This is also confirmed by current data. In recent months we have constantly observed an increase in the number of foreigners working in Poland, including Ukrainians," added Prof. Uścińska.
second A large group of foreigners coming to Poland to take up legal work here are citizens of Belarus. At the end of June, the social security applications were 87,000 Belarusians. In our country, Georgians also have a strong representation among employees. Legal employment took over 28,000 citizens of this country.
Most foreigners, for 58.3%, who are subject to social insurance are persons employed for employment contracts. The others either set up their own company, or work under contract orders or other contracts from which social security contributions are paid.
People of the age age, i.e. in the range, come to Poland to work 25–49 years, with the most people working with a foreign passport aged 30–39 years. They are mostly men – close 60%
