On 24 April this year We took part in the Conference of the Forum of Supervisory Boards, addressed to members of the Supervisory Boards, persons responsible for the management of entities listed on the WSE and investors considering their debut on the stock exchange.

The conference discussed many aspects of capital market investment, including first The plan raised the issue of the current situation of the Polish capital market and the impact of implementation of EU and local regulations on the situation of investors.

The invited guests presented the current situation of the capital market in Poland, indicating that despite the lack of clearly optimistic signals, investments in the capital market can still be an interesting alternative to activities on the banking market.

  • If we are talking about the future of the capital market, it may not be as good as we would like it to be," said Krzysztof Jedlak, editor-in-chief Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. Jacek Socha (PwC) expressed himself more bluntly, identifying the situation as really bad. – One cannot say that it is bad, it is nothing – reposted one of participants.

Speakers also pointed out that despite the difficulties currently facing the capital market in Poland, there are interesting concepts to revive the situation. one of such ideas is to introduce the possibility of succession of family companies.

According to the participants, the next implementation of the initiative is the implementation of employee capital plans. The subject matter of the capital market relationship to the banking market was also raised. The gatherings spoke with great reserve on the idea of connecting the banking sector with the capital market sector.

Katarzyna Urbańska (PwC) presented a comprehensive review of market opportunities in the near future. There are many voices that excessive market regulation is a serious burden on participants.

However, it seems that our problem is that, when we introduce EU regulations, we interpret them very restrictively, as much as possible than the authors themselves.

The effect is that in our Polish market these regulations are enforced in a much stricter way than in the legislation in which the concept of the regulation was originally created.

In addition, we introduce many of our own local regulations under Polish legislation, which together with Community legislation creates a set of significant burdens for market participants.

The issue of both financial and administrative burdens is not only on the Polish market, as presented for example the cost of implementing regulation by participants in European capital markets for significant amounts expressed in one million EUR.
