The Sejm adopted a draft amendment to the VAT Act implementing the National e-Faktur System (KSeF). In 2023 the use of e-invoicing will become compulsory. As part of the project implementing e-invoicing into the Polish legal system, changes to invoicing which are part of the package are also being made SLIM VAT 2.

In the first phase e-invoice implementation, Polish entrepreneurs will use it voluntarily. It will work as one of the authorised forms of documentation of sales, in addition to paper invoices and current economic electronic invoices. In 2023 the use of e-invoices will become mandatory.

The benefits of this solution include:

taxpayers choosing e-invoicing will receive a VAT refund by 1/3 faster – the refund period will shorten for them by 20 days, with 60 to 40

The invoice will remain in the MF database and will never be destroyed or lost, it will not be necessary to issue duplicates.

E- invoice will speed up the turnover between companies. Entrepreneurs who use it will make in minus adjustments simply at the time of its issue, because both sides of the transaction will see it in the system. It's also a very convenient solution. The e-invoice is structured – this means that it always has the same format. Key information such as the price of goods or the tax rate will be on the same place

– explained Deputy Minister of Finance Jan Sarnowski

invoicing changes forming part of the package SLIM VAT 2 concerning, inter alia,

no obligation to indicate ‘Duplicate’ when the original invoice is destroyed or lost

the absence of an obligation to indicate on the invoice the reason for the correction of the words ‘correction’ or ‘correction’.

The bill adopted by the Sejm finalises the implementation of the facilitation package in Polish law SLIM VAT 2.

The package included improving financial liquidity in the area of split payment , facilitating the deduction of VAT on cars used for business activity, easier application of the option of property taxation or longer time to benefit from the relief for bad debts.

These are all proposals made to us by entrepreneurs and expected by the market. Ministry of Finance is already working on another simplification package for business – the package SLIM VAT 3 – added Deputy Minister Sarnowski.
