Minister of Finance, Funds and Regional Policy Tadeusz Kościński has decided to issue a regulation which will extend to 31 December 2021 period for spending on own housing obtained in 2018 revenue from the sale of real estate. It is a result of dialogue with business and citizens, which is conducted, among others, through the application "Voice of the taxpayer". External consultation of the draft regulation will continue until 16 December 2020
„Since the beginning of my work at the Ministry of Finance, I have stressed the importance of dialogue with taxpayers, our customers, and therefore how important it is to listen to voices from outside. That is why we have created the "Voice of the taxpayer" – an application that is an important link between the Ministry of Finance and citizens. Many comments or initiatives that appear there are taken into account when drafting or updating legislation. The extension of the time limit for issuing revenues from the sale of apartments is also a result of our dialogue. This proves that such a form of cooperation is very necessary and confirms that it works very well," said Minister of Finance, Funds and Regional Policy Tadeusz Kościński.
PIT tax payers who sold the property in 2018, to benefit from the so-called housing relief in question under Article 21(1)(131) PIT laws, they must spend their income for their own housing purposes at the latest by the end of 2-the summer period from the end of the year in which they sold the property, i.e.
to the end 2020 From 1 January 2019 the revised provisions on housing relief apply. The period for spending revenue has been extended from 2 years to 3 years. So the person who sold the property in 2019, has the time to spend the revenue obtained from this sale to the end 2022
Extension of deadlines is a result of constant contact and cooperation with citizens, among others, through the application “Voice of the taxpayer”. Application that was created in January 2020 is available on the website podatki.gov.pl and twojglos.gov.pl.
