Standard ISO9001 is aimed at understanding and meeting customer requirements, i.e. specific needs for the products of an organisation, taking a process approach, providing process performance results and continuously improving them, based on objective measurements.
To the main requirements of the standard ISO 9001 include: introduction of supervision of documentation and records, involvement of management in building a quality management system, systematisation of resource management, establishment of product implementation processes, systematic measurement (customer satisfaction, products, processes).
All these requirements are described in detail in this standard and take into account eight quality principles:
- • customer orientation (the organisation's position on the market depends on its customers);
- • Leadership (the organisation's leadership develops its development directions);
- • the involvement of people (the most valuable asset of the organization is people);
- process approach (the effectiveness and efficiency of organisations depend mainly on the quality of the processes carried out. Very good support in process identification: APQC model, as described in the book Modeling Process Organization under the editorial board of J. Ausztola and M. Chomusko;
- a system approach to management (quality management is treated as management of interconnected processes);
- continuous improvement (the permanent objective of the organisation is to continuously improve the processes carried out in it);
- a factual approach to decision-making (decision-making is based on an analytical, logical or intuitive analysis of all available data and information);
- mutual benefits in relations with suppliers the creation of mutually beneficial relations with suppliers of materials and services provides a high quality guarantee to organisations).
It is stressed that ISO 9001 is a standard accepted and recognized worldwide.
